Regular practice on Tuesday at the Cathedral (at 19h), with beginners practice sometimes at 18h. St Matthew’s on the 13th (at 18h). No early-career sessions at the cathedral at 18h yet, they will start up again in November. Beginners will get sessions during the normal practice hours.
Handbells at Cathedral (at 19h), every second Thursday.
Events: October 10, Saturday, a funeral ring. The funeral is at 11h, so we will ring from 10h to 11h, then toll afterwards, about 12h.
October 10, Saturday 18h30-21h10 “Nuit des Clochers” We will be taking part in a city-wide event about church bells, showing how it is done in the Anglo style. We will ring four times, for twenty minutes each time, starting at 19h, 19h35, 20h15, and 20h50.
October 16-18 Workshop on moving from doubles to minor methods, put on by the North American Guild. Study for Plain Bob, Little Bob, and possibly Kent. The schedule at the moment is practice Friday evening 19h-21h, then Saturday 9h – 12h (with breaks), 12-14h lunch, 14h-17h (with breaks). Sunday we will ring a normal service ring 10h-11h, have a break for service and lunch, then possibly go down to St. Matt’s from 14h-15h, then back to the cathedral to practice until 16h20, then do the Evensong service ring 16h30-17h. If all goes well, we might ring a quarter attempt on Sunday afternoon.
Visitors: October 4, two visitors from England, Andrew Fawbert, will be visiting for service ring. We may pop down to St, Matt’s afterwards to give them a tower grab.
Ringers away in October: Andrea will be ringing in England from October 19th on.
